Eatanic Garden
Son Jong-won's seasonal Korean courses, each introduced by an illustrated card, on the 36th floor of Josun Palace.
Korean cooking, 36 floors above Gangnam
Eatanic Garden is the Korean restaurant of Josun Palace, on the hotel’s 36th floor on Teheran-ro in Gangnam, Seoul. The hotel presents it as Korean cuisine grounded in research into the country’s food culture, “an invitation to a new way of eating”. It holds one Michelin star in the MICHELIN Guide Seoul & Busan 2026.
The kitchen is led by Son Jong-won, who also runs L’Amant Secret at L’Escape Hotel; Tatler Asia notes he is the only chef in South Korea to oversee two one-star restaurants. He trained at the Culinary Institute of America and cooked at Benu, Quince and Coi in San Francisco and at Noma before returning to Korea in 2018.
No fixed menu, one card per dish
There is no set carte. Courses follow the season, and each dish is introduced with an illustrated card showing its key ingredient while the staff explain where it comes from, from shellfish to native Korean rice varieties. Michelin describes traditional Korean flavours worked through creative ideas and modern technique into precisely composed, highly visual plates. The window tables for two look out over the city.
