Korea's first Fairmont: Richard Rogers' Parc.1 complex on Yeouido, with a 29th-floor restaurant and bar over the Han River.

Why we recommend it
Yeouido is the financial island of Seoul, and until this hotel opened it was a place travellers passed through. Fairmont Ambassador Seoul gives it a hotel with architecture behind it, in a complex by Richard Rogers, and a top floor that uses the setting: Mariposa and the M29 bar look along the Han River from the 29th storey.
The practical case is strong. The hotel has convenient access to the Seoul Metro, so both the old city north of the river and Gangnam to the south-east are a direct ride away. For a stay that mixes work and the city, and for travellers who like a river view more than a palace view, it is a sound choice. Four Seasons Hotel Seoul is the alternative in the historic centre.
Location
The hotel is part of the Parc.1 complex on Yeouido, an island in the Han River, with convenient access to the Seoul Metro and to a large department store in the complex.
