Why we recommend it
Most of the grand hotels of Seoul are north of the Han River. Josun Palace gives the business and retail district to the south a hotel of the same standing, with a link, through its name, to one of the oldest hotel traditions in the country. The design avoids pastiche: Humbert & Poyet's geometry is modern, and the Korean references are in the pattern and line rather than in ornament.
It suits a traveller whose Seoul is Gangnam. The hotel's own contemporary Korean restaurant and its 1914 Lounge & Bar are reasons to stay in for an evening. Those who prefer the old city can compare The Shilla Seoul.
