Ambre Ciel
Alan Yu's single French-rooted tasting menu with subtle Chinese twists, served at six tables; one Michelin star.
Six tables behind stone walls
Ambré Ciel is on the ground floor of Meifan Plaza Proya on Xixi Road in Xihu, Hangzhou, and holds one Michelin star in the MICHELIN Guide Shanghai Jiangsu Zhejiang 2026. Chef Alan Yu took over the restaurant in 2022 after working in a number of prestigious kitchens.
Its six tables are enclosed by heavily textured stone walls that give each one privacy, and a private room for ten uses multimedia projections. A single tasting menu is served at lunch and dinner, with courses rooted in French tradition and, in the Michelin inspectors’ words, boosted by subtle Chinese twists.
