Michelin Guide Hong Kong & Macau 2026: Two New Two-Star Tables
The 18th edition, announced in Macau on 19 March 2026, promoted Cristal Room by Anne-Sophie Pic and L'Atelier de Joël Robuchon to two stars and kept nine restaurants at three.
The 18th edition of the MICHELIN Guide Hong Kong & Macau was announced on 19 March 2026 at Grand Lisboa Palace in Macau. The 2026 guide lists 278 restaurants, 219 in Hong Kong and 59 in Macau, of which 98 hold stars. There were no changes at the top, and two promotions to two stars.
Nine restaurants keep three stars. In Hong Kong they are 8½ Otto e Mezzo – Bombana, Amber, Caprice, Forum, Sushi Shikon, Ta Vie and T’ang Court. In Macau they are Jade Dragon and Robuchon au Dôme.
The two new two-star restaurants are both French and both in Hong Kong. Cristal Room by Anne-Sophie Pic, the restaurant created by the chef from Valence with the crystal maker Baccarat, on the top floor of a tower in Central, was promoted from one star. L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon, long a fixture of The Landmark, returned to the guide at two stars after a move to new premises.
Four restaurants received a first star. In Hong Kong they are China Tang, the Cantonese restaurant founded by the late David Tang, and Sushi Takeshi. In Macau they are Don Alfonso 1890, the Italian restaurant at Grand Lisboa, and Palace Garden, a Cantonese restaurant at Grand Lisboa Palace. Five restaurants hold the Green Star for sustainable practice.
The guide gave a new award this year, for a mentor chef, to Lau Ping Lui of Tin Lung Heen, the Cantonese restaurant at The Ritz-Carlton, in recognition of the cooks he has trained. Kim GwanJu of the Korean restaurant Sol received the young chef award, Jenny Ye of The Huaiyang Garden the service award, and Floriane Hureau of Caprice the sommelier award.
A stable selection is itself informative. After several difficult years for restaurants in Hong Kong, with closures among well-known names, the top of the market has held, and the arrival of chefs such as Pic shows that the city can still attract them. A week later, The Chairman was named the best restaurant in Asia.
Three of the three-star restaurants are in hotels covered by OKYTO: Caprice at Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong, Amber at The Landmark Mandarin Oriental, and Jade Dragon at City of Dreams in Macau.
