Ta Vie
Hideaki Sato's French-Japanese tasting menu at The Pottinger Hong Kong, three Michelin stars in 2026.
Ta Vie is chef Hideaki Sato’s intimate fine-dining restaurant on the second floor of The Pottinger Hong Kong, on Queen’s Road Central. The name works as a French phrase meaning “your life” and sounds like the Japanese word for “journey”. It was awarded three Michelin stars in the 2026 Michelin Guide Hong Kong & Macau.
The food
The cooking is French with Japanese influences, built on top-quality ingredients brought from Japan. There is a single tasting menu that changes with the seasons. The drinks list leans Japanese, with sake, umeshu and Japanese whiskies alongside house cocktails.
Why it matters
Ta Vie is one of the newer names in Hong Kong’s three-star group and one of the few set inside a boutique hotel rather than a grand one. It pairs well with the city’s other contemporary tables such as Caprice at Four Seasons. OKYTO recommends it for a quiet, seasonal evening focused on Japanese produce.
