Vegetables, treated seriously
Lamdre is a vegan restaurant in Chaoyang, promoted to two Michelin stars in the 2026 Beijing guide. The inspectors describe veteran chef Dai, who spent time in Japan studying plant-based ingredients, and a seasonal menu.
Their signature dish is ‘porcini, green pepper, sea salt’, in which Yunnan mushrooms are chargrilled for a smoky aroma, and they also single out a tofu steeped in broth and well seasoned. A skylight in the pitched roof lights the main room, with private rooms and a balcony.
Menus follow the seasons, so confirm what is being served.
