Why we recommend it

With 127 rooms, this is a small hotel by the standards of Hong Kong, and André Fu’s interiors give it the feeling of a private house more than a tower. The designer’s approach is the subject of our profile of André Fu, the Hong Kong designer who treats hotels as houses, and the hotel is one of the clearest expressions of it.

The second argument is the table. Few hotels of this size have two restaurants of the standing of L’Envol and Rùn, and the bar, with its long wine list, is a distinctive room in Wan Chai. The hotel received a Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star rating in 2025.

The address suits travellers with business at the Convention and Exhibition Centre, which is within walking distance, and it is well placed during the fairs held there. For the wider choice, see our guide to where to stay in Hong Kong, from the Kowloon waterfront to Wan Chai.

01

Rooms & Suites

The hotel lists 127 rooms, 17 of them suites; it opened with 129. Guestrooms have wood floors, Asian-inspired accents, deep soaking bathtubs and large windows facing the harbour or the city, and some exceed 50 square metres. The suites rise to the St. Regis Suite and the Presidential Suite, and selected suites have a panoramic view of the harbour.

Every guest has the St. Regis butler service, a tradition the brand traces to its founder, John Jacob Astor IV: in-room check-in, packing and unpacking, pressing, and help with tailoring, travel and tickets, available at any hour.

02

Dining

L’Envol, the French restaurant at The St. Regis Hong Kong, is led by the chef Olivier Elzer and is listed by the hotel with two Michelin stars as of 2026; it keeps a selection of more than 40 cheeses and a cellar of over 800 wines and Champagnes. Rùn, the hotel’s Cantonese restaurant, also Michelin-starred, serves modern Cantonese cooking under the chef Hung Chi-Kwong.

The Drawing Room handles all-day dining and afternoon tea, served in part from a trolley inspired by dim sum service. The St. Regis Bar mixes cocktails that refer to New York and Hong Kong, including the brand’s signature Bloody Mary and a local version, the Canto Mary; cigars are offered on the adjoining Astor Terrace. Each evening a bottle of Champagne is opened by sabre, a St. Regis ritual.

03

Design

André Fu conceived the interiors of the 27-storey building as those of a curated mansion, residential in mood, with wood floors and Asian-inspired accents in the rooms. The opening is covered in our report on The St. Regis Hong Kong opening in Wan Chai, and the designer’s place in the city’s hotels in our guide to Hong Kong design hotels, from André Fu to Foster and Joyce Wang.

The building holds BEAM Plus certification.

04

Wellness & Spa

The Verandah Pool is a heated outdoor pool. The St. Regis Athletic Club, the gym, is open around the clock and fitted with Technogym equipment, and the spa alongside offers treatments using 001 Skincare London and 3LAB products.

05

Location

The hotel is on Harbour Drive in Wan Chai, on Hong Kong Island, within walking distance of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre and Victoria Harbour. Exhibition Centre MTR station is nearby. Hong Kong International Airport is about 39 kilometres away.
