Why we recommend it
The best-placed contemporary hotel in Beijing for the historic centre. The Forbidden City, Jingshan and the hutongs are all reached on foot, the building is a serious work of architecture, and the hotel is small and calm.

At the corner of Wangfujing Street and Wusi Street in Dongcheng, opposite the National Art Museum of China and about ten minutes on foot from the Forbidden City's north-east corner.
