Why we recommend it
Cambodia's coast has few places to stay at this level, and this one is easy to reach: ten minutes from Sihanouk airport to the mainland jetty, then a short crossing. The island is small and wooded, and the villas are set among the trees, each with a pool of its own.
The resort's interest goes beyond the beach. The kitchen cooks Khmer food partly from its own farm, the spa works with Cambodian traditions, and the island is home to about 20 species of birds, hornbills among them. It closes a Cambodian journey that begins at Angkor and passes through Phnom Penh and the forest camp of Shinta Mani Wild.
Location
Krabey is a private island in the Gulf of Thailand, off Ream National Park in the south of Cambodia. Sihanouk International Airport is ten minutes from the mainland jetty, and the crossing by speedboat takes 15 minutes.
