Why we recommend it
Every room is a pavilion or villa with its own pool, the smallest of them 130 square metres, on a beach with little development. The result is seclusion on a coast better known for crowds.
Two things give the resort its character. Ta Khai is the signature restaurant, with a menu built on local seafood. Asaya, which Rosewood has since taken to its hotels around the world, started here. The low buildings and the resort's solar power show a design that took the site seriously.
Location
Emerald Bay is a cove on the south-west coast of Phuket, near the coast resorts around Patong. The resort occupies the hillside behind 600 metres of beach. Phuket has an international airport.
