Led by chef Supaksorn “Ice” Jongsiri, the Bangkok restaurant is devoted to southern Thai cooking, which the guide describes as blending tradition with modernity and refinement with evolution. Sorn earned its first star in 2019 and its second in 2020. “With the country’s first-ever ‘Three MICHELIN Stars’ restaurant, 2025 definitely marks a significant and historic year for Thailand on the international gastronomic map,” said the MICHELIN Guide’s Gwendal Poullennec.
The only new two-star restaurant was Côte by Mauro Colagreco at Capella Bangkok, promoted from one star four years after opening. The kitchen is run on site by Davide Garavaglia, and the restaurant’s sommelier, Thansith Wasinonth, received the guide’s Sommelier Award. “Our teams have worked tirelessly over the past four years to achieve this level of service,” said Colagreco.
Six restaurants kept two stars: Baan Tepa, Chef’s Table, Gaa, Mezzaluna, R-Haan and Sühring. Five restaurants gained a first star, bringing the number of starred addresses in the selection to 36. The 2025 guide covers Bangkok, Nonthaburi, Phuket and Phang Nga, with Chon Buri added for the first time.
Special awards went to Sittikorn “Ou” Chantop of AKKEE as Young Chef, Dimitrios Moudios of Ōre for Opening of the Year, and Yupa “Ying” Sukkasem of Baan Tepa for service.
