Regent Hong Kong
Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon, Hong Kong
The Regent brand's historic flagship on the Kowloon waterfront, redesigned by Chi Wing Lo: 497 rooms and Lai Ching Heen.
Why we recommend it
Few hotels in Hong Kong sit as close to the water, and Chi Wing Lo's redesign is built on that fact. The quiet rooms are a deliberate contrast to the view over Victoria Harbour, and the result is one of the most considered hotel renovations in the city.
The hotel also has history: it was a city icon in the 1980s and 1990s, and the return of the Regent name restored it. Lai Ching Heen and afternoon tea in the Lobby Lounge are worth a visit even for those staying elsewhere. The Hong Kong guide and our guide to the city's cultural decade cover what is nearby.
Location
The hotel is on the harbourfront in Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon, facing Hong Kong Island across Victoria Harbour.
