Tenjinbashi Aoki
A sukiya-style counter in Tenjimbashi where seasonal festivals shape the menu; two Michelin stars.
The Restaurant
Tenjimbashi Aoki is a counter restaurant in a sukiya-style interior decorated with flowers the chef grows himself. He learned the basics in a restaurant in Hozenji Alley, where he was first trusted with the appetiser platters.
The Michelin Guide notes meticulous attention to the ceremonial space, the cooking, the serving vessels and the feel of the seasons. The chef collects seasonal vessels, and the menu is built around assortments that celebrate the seasons and their festivals.
Good to Know
The restaurant holds two Michelin stars in the 2026 guide and sits in the top price band. The listing shows very limited opening hours and reservations go through an external site, so plan ahead. See Osaka for the wider scene.
