Amanpuri Reopens in Phuket After a Four-Month Enhancement Programme
The Phuket resort reopens following four months of enhancements.
Amanpuri has reopened on Phuket’s west coast after a four-month seasonal closure used to complete a series of enhancements across the resort.
Aman’s original property closed temporarily from May 15 to September 13, 2026 and reopened on September 14. The work is particularly notable because Amanpuri is not simply another resort in the group’s portfolio: opened in 1988, it established much of the architectural and service language that would later define Aman.
Careful evolution of an original
The resort occupies a private peninsula above the Andaman Sea, with pavilions and villas connected by elevated walkways through mature tropical landscaping. Aman has described the 2026 works as considered enhancements rather than a reinvention, an approach consistent with the need to preserve the identity of a property whose design has become closely associated with the brand itself.
For Phuket, the reopening also returns one of the island’s longest-established ultra-luxury resorts to the market ahead of the main winter travel season. The island continues to attract both new high-end projects and substantial investment in existing properties.
