The Dali EDITION opened in Yunnan province, EDITION Hotels announced on 18 June 2026. The 151-key hotel stands at 2,090 metres on the slopes of Cangshan Mountain, overlooking Erhai Lake, about 39 kilometres from Dali Fengyi Airport.

Shenzhen-based Cheng Chung Design drew on traditional Bai architecture, using vaulted ceilings, garden pathways, aged timber, bluestone and pebbles from Erhai Lake. The brand describes the result as a modern neighbourhood set quietly into the landscape.

Rooms start at 60 square metres and face either the lake or the mountain, and a number of private villas have their own pools. The 250-square-metre Presidential Suite adds an indoor pool, a private courtyard, five-metre ceilings, a suspended fireplace and a sculptural stone chandelier.

Market at EDITION is the all-day, farm-to-table restaurant with open kitchens, while KUSHO focuses on wood-fired cooking over local hardwood charcoal. A Chinese restaurant borrows elements of Bai architecture, and the Lobby Bar moves from tea service by day to cocktails at night. The hotel also works its own tea plantation, where guests can pick and roast leaves, and hosts a tea ritual called “Trail of the Tea Horse: A Harvest Journey”.

The spa has five treatment rooms, with signature treatments including a Pine Wood Massage and a Jade Hot Stone Body Ritual, alongside a 25-metre indoor pool and a yoga terrace facing the mountain. Activities include foraging walks, mushroom hunts and sunrise runs on the mountainside.

“Dali carries a remarkable sense of place, shaped over centuries by exchange, artistry, and landscape,” said George Fleck, senior vice president and global brand leader of EDITION. The full release is on Hospitality Net.
