Chao Shang Chao
Cheung Yat-fung's refined Chaozhou cooking in Chaoyang; three Michelin stars.
Chaozhou classics at three stars
Chao Shang Chao is on the fourth floor of CP Center on Jinhe East Road in Chaoyang, Beijing, and holds three Michelin stars in the MICHELIN Guide Beijing 2026. Its Hong Kong-born chef, Cheung Yat-fung, received the guide’s first Beijing Mentor Chef Award that year.
Diners arrive through a hallway lined with costly dried fish maw. With years of experience in Hong Kong and Shanghai, Cheung reimagines Chaozhou classics with finesse; the Michelin inspectors single out braised fish maw with 30-year-aged dried radish, whose aroma gives the dish extra depth. Both the wine list and tea menu are strong.
