The twin-tower landmark, owned by Lotte Tour Development, stands about ten minutes by car from Jeju International Airport.
Rooms start at 65 square metres. At the top of the range, the Presidential Suite covers 260 square metres with two bedrooms, separate living and dining areas, a massage room, a sauna and steam room, and butler service. The Grand Club lounge, which holds up to 200 guests across a library, dining hall and living room, was described as the largest Grand Hyatt club lounge in the region.
HBA handled interiors and lighting under a concept called GOKMA, short for Gallery of Korean Modern Art. The studio framed the hotel as “an artistic interpretation of a national art gallery, where the space itself remains neutral, allowing the art to take center stage”, mixing references to Korean palaces with contemporary culture and traditional materials used in unexpected ways.
The food and drink offer runs to 14 restaurants and bars. They include China House for northern Chinese, Shanghainese and Sichuan cooking, Jeju Hot Pot, Noknamu for Korean barbecue, Pocha for Korean street food on the 38th floor, a Steak House, the Grand Kitchen buffet, Yumeyama for sushi and teppanyaki, and Café 8 for Italian food.
Outdoors, a 4,290-square-metre pool deck, the largest on Jeju, holds a heated infinity pool, cabanas, a hot tub, a children’s pool and a poolside bar. Wellness splits between a Korean jjimjil spa and the European-style Rosebay Spa, and the HAN Collection brings more than 200 Korean fashion designers and brands together across two retail floors.
“Grand Hyatt Jeju represents the best of modern Korean culture and offers welcoming hospitality,” said general manager and managing director Paul Kwok in the opening release.
