The hotel sits within the Chao Phraya Estate, developed by Country Group Development, beside Charoenkrung Road, Bangkok’s oldest paved street.
All 101 rooms, suites and villas face the river. They range from 61 to 595 square metres, each with floor-to-ceiling windows and a balcony or verandah, while the Riverside Villas and Verandah accommodations add outdoor jacuzzi plunge pools. The architecture is by Andy Miller and Richard Scott Wilson of Hamiltons International, with interiors by BAMO.
Dining opened with the hotel. Côte by Mauro Colagreco is the first restaurant in Southeast Asia for the chef of three-Michelin-starred Mirazur, serving French and Italian Riviera cooking. Phra Nakhon is an alfresco Thai restaurant built around traditional recipes, and Stella covers patisserie by day and cocktails later on.
“We want to encourage learning and exploration, give back to the community and create emotional connections that stay with guests long after they check out,” said general manager John Blanco. To mark the date, the hotel sold a “Capella Bangkok 101” package, bookable only within 101 hours of opening, with rates from THB 29,999++ per night including upgrades, meals at both restaurants and spa treatments.
Capella shares the estate’s riverfront with the Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok, which was due to open next door. Time Out Bangkok described it as the brand’s fifth international location. More information is on Capella’s website and in our Bangkok guide.
