Low-rise riverside resort in the city: 299 rooms, Gathy interiors, Cantonese, Italian and French restaurants and BKK Social Club.

Why we recommend it
The hotel is built outwards along the river instead of upwards, in tiered buildings, which is unusual in Bangkok and gives it the feeling of a resort. The interiors are by Jean-Michel Gathy, one of the designers who shaped the Asian resort, and the list of restaurants and bars is long enough to fill several evenings without leaving.
Its neighbour on the river, Capella Bangkok, is the natural comparison. The Bangkok guide covers the city.
Location
The hotel stands on the Chao Phraya River along Charoen Krung Road in Bangkok's Creative District, with 200 metres of river frontage.
