The St. Regis Hong Kong, announced on 11 April 2019, is a 27-storey building in Wan Chai with 129 rooms and suites, close to the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre and Golden Bauhinia Square.
Interiors are by Hong Kong-born designer André Fu, who approached the property as a curated mansion. Guestrooms pair wood flooring with Asian-inspired accents, deep bathtubs and large windows facing the harbour or the city. The brand’s signature butler service runs around the clock and can also be reached by chat through the Marriott mobile app.
The dining line-up is built around two chef-led restaurants. L’Envol serves French haute cuisine under chef Olivier Elzer, while Rùn is a Cantonese restaurant led by chef Hung Chi-kwong. The Drawing Room handles all-day dining and afternoon tea, and The St. Regis Bar pours from a list of more than 800 wine labels, including around 100 Champagnes, with live jazz in the evenings. A mural behind the bar depicts Hong Kong’s history and landscape.
Facilities include a heated outdoor swimming pool with a poolside bar, a health club with a spa treatment room and about 12,000 square feet of event space across five venues. Lisa Holladay, global brand leader for St. Regis, described Hong Kong as “the point of convergence for East and West” in announcing the debut. The full opening announcement lists the facilities in detail.
