Gaa opened in April 2017 in a relocated, restored Thai wooden house of Ayutthaya origin on Sukhumvit 53. Garima Arora, born in Mumbai and trained at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, owns the restaurant and cooks.

Seasonal tasting menus reinterpret Indian cooking with fermentation, pickling and tandoor work, using Thai ingredients.
Why it matters
Gaa earned its first Michelin star in 2018 and its second in 2024, making Arora the first Indian woman to hold two stars. It sits in the same Bangkok conversation as Gaggan.
