The Restaurant

Sonam Trophel is a small restaurant inside Hotel Sonam Trophel in the middle of Paro, open since 1991. It has plain wooden tables and a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere.

The Bhutanese home-style dishes are adjusted for foreign palates, using less chilli than is typical, and the Indian dishes are praised. Recommended plates include beef and vegetarian momos, thukpa, chicken pakora and cheesy potatoes.
