Kamimura
Chef Yuichi Kamimura's 'Hokkaido French' degustation, Niseko's first headline restaurant.
The Restaurant
Kamimura opened in 2008 and is described by PowderLife as modern Niseko’s first headline restaurant. Chef Yuichi Kamimura trained under Tetsuya Wakuda in Sydney, and cooks creative, colourful degustation menus that blend produce from land and sea in what is called Hokkaido French.
The Michelin Guide said his cooking has no borders and will not fall neatly into any genre.
Good to Know
The restaurant was awarded Niseko’s first Michelin star, which it kept in the second guide, according to PowderLife; those ratings predate the current period, so confirm the status with the restaurant. See Niseko for the area.
