Feng Wei Ju
Hunan and Sichuan cooking at StarWorld Macau, with handmade noodles pulled in an open kitchen.
Chilli, peppercorn and a pulled noodle
Feng Wei Ju is on the fifth floor of StarWorld Hotel in Macau, and SCMP’s profile calls it the only two-Michelin-star restaurant dedicated to Hunan and Sichuan cuisines in Hong Kong and Macau. Executive chef Chan Chek-keong has nearly 30 years of experience in the two styles, and he and his team travel to both provinces to source chillies, peppercorns and cured ingredients.
Signature dishes include sautéed chicken with peanuts and chilli, steamed carp fish head with chilli and boiled mandarin fish fillets in chilli oil. Boneless beef ribs with homemade chilli sauce and crispy chicken fillets are also recommended, and handmade noodles are pulled in the open kitchen.
The dining room is red and gold, with two private rooms. Menus change, so confirm current dishes.
