Louise
French cooking by Loïc Portalier and Julien Royer in a historic PMQ building, one star.
French family recipes in a PMQ house
Louise sits in a two-storey historic building in PMQ, the creative hub on Hollywood Road, with gardens around it, vintage wallpaper and crystal lighting inside. It opened in 2019 and earned a Michelin star within six months.
The kitchen is led by chef Loïc Portalier, and the menus reflect the vision of Portalier and Julien Royer, the French chef behind Odette in Singapore. The cooking is French, built from family recipes: recommended dishes include a caramelised onion tart, roasted Hong Kong yellow chicken and classic madeleines. La Terrace by Louise, a lower-level tropical lounge, serves lighter meals.
Louise suits an unhurried dinner with an old-fashioned French sensibility, in an area better known for galleries and bars. Menus change, so confirm the current dishes.
