Ennismore opened Mondrian Hong Kong, the brand’s first hotel in Greater China, on 18 December 2023. The 40-storey tower at 8A Hart Avenue in Tsim Sha Tsui is owned by Peterson Group and previously operated as Hotel Panorama.

The hotel has 324 rooms, including 12 two-bay suites. It sits close to the West Kowloon Cultural District, and its art programme brings curated works and performances by local and international artists into the building.

The main restaurant is Carna, a nose-to-tail Italian steakhouse by the Tuscan butcher Dario Cecchini, with interiors by Hong Kong designer Joyce Wang. Avoca, the cocktail bar, pairs DJs with comfort food, and the 40th-floor rooftop is set aside for cultural happenings, community gatherings and performances.

The opening skipped the usual celebrity launch. The first guests were single-parent families on complimentary staycations arranged with the Society for Community Organization (SoCO) and the Hong Kong Single Parents Association, with meals and tickets to the M+ museum included. General manager Dirk Dalichau described the vision as “the hotel as a progressive and imaginative community”.

The hotel opened six weeks after the grand opening of Regent Hong Kong on the Tsim Sha Tsui harbourfront, adding another new address to the Kowloon side of Hong Kong. More on the Mondrian Hong Kong website.
