L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon
Open-kitchen French dining at The Landmark, Central, two Michelin stars in 2026.
L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon in Hong Kong was announced in March 2006 and opened later that year in The Landmark, in Central, as Joël Robuchon’s fifth L’Atelier restaurant. The concept, which means “artist’s workshop”, was based on the Tokyo edition. It is split into two areas, L’Atelier and Le Jardin, and the L’Atelier seating surrounds an open kitchen, similar to a sushi bar.
Stars and reopening
The restaurant held three Michelin stars from 2010 to 2024 and returned to two stars in the 2026 Michelin Guide Hong Kong & Macau, after a refurbishment and a reopening in late 2025. Cattaneo Adriano is head chef.
Why it matters
L’Atelier brought the open-kitchen counter format of Robuchon’s global group to Hong Kong, and its movement between three and two stars follows the city’s changing French scene. OKYTO recommends it for counter dining in Central; check the restaurant for current menus after its reopening.
