Yangling Tibetan Restaurant
A small family-run Tibetan kitchen in Thamel whose reputation rests on one thing: momos, made nonstop.
A momo line in Thamel
Yangling is a small, family-run Tibetan restaurant in the heart of Thamel, in Kathmandu, Nepal. Tibetan food is common in parts of the city, carried by its Tibetan community, and momos are what Yangling is known for.
Lonely Planet reports that “Yangling is known among locals as serving the best momos in town”, and describes the ground-floor kitchen as a nonstop momo production line.
What to order
The dumplings come steamed or fried, with a choice of fillings. Fodor’s singles out the fried chili momos and the chicken momos. There are Western dishes on the menu too, but in Fodor’s view they do not compare.
Lonely Planet also lists a branch of Yangling in southern Thamel.
