Petrus
Contemporary French fine dining on level 56 of the Island Shangri-La, one Michelin star.
Petrus sits on level 56 of the Island Shangri-La at Pacific Place, a French dining room perched high above Victoria Harbour. Executive Chef Uwe Opocensky, previously executive chef at Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong, and a former stagiaire at El Bulli, runs the kitchen.
The food
The cooking is contemporary French, served with guéridon finishing at the table. An autumn menu has paired King Crab with root vegetables, Yunnan matsutake with Comté, and Brittany lobster with beetroot. The wine list has won regional awards for its champagne and sparkling selection.
Why it matters
Petrus has held one Michelin star in the Hong Kong & Macau guide since 2020. It is a formal, view-led room for a long French dinner, with private rooms for larger tables.
