Punjabi food with swagger

New Punjab Club is the Black Sheep group’s Punjabi restaurant in Lan Kwai Fong, founded by Asim Hussain, whose family comes from Pakistani Punjab, with chef Christopher Mark. It was reported to have earned its Michelin star 18 months after opening, described as the world’s first star for a Pakistani restaurant.

Head chef Palash Mitra cooks the dishes of the region, which Arab News describes as often meat-heavy and piquant, and the team made repeated trips to Lahore to perfect recipes. Two old tandoor ovens, restored from Hussain’s father’s shuttered restaurant, anchor the kitchen. The room is decorated with paintings by Pakistani artists.

It holds one star in the 2026 guide. Menus change, so check the current dishes when booking.
