Cuisine Wat Damnak
Cambodian-French tasting menus in a wooden house, first Cambodian entry on Asia's 50 Best.
Cuisine Wat Damnak is a restaurant in Siem Reap, described by The World’s 50 Best Discovery as the first Cambodian restaurant to appear on Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants. It occupies a traditional wooden house, with a modern ground-floor room, a rustic upstairs room and a tropical garden. Its changing tasting menu blends Cambodian heritage with French technique. French chef Joannès Rivière, who has lived in Cambodia for over twenty years and wrote a cookbook on Cambodian cuisine, co-owns it with Nguon Vengchhay.
