See Kegon Falls drop from Lake Chuzenji
A 97-metre fall from Lake Chuzenji, ranked among Japan's three most beautiful waterfalls.
Kegon Falls is the single outlet of Lake Chuzenji, in Nikko National Park in Tochigi Prefecture. The Daiya River leaves the lake here and drops about 97 metres, from a height of roughly 1,269 metres above sea level, in a basin of mountains that includes the volcanic Mount Nantai. Nikko’s tourism board counts it among Japan’s three most beautiful waterfalls, and a paid observation platform at the foot of the falls gives a close view.
