Signiel Busan Set to Open in Haeundae’s LCT Tower

Lotte Hotels takes its top-tier Signiel brand beyond Lotte World Tower, placing 260 ocean-facing rooms in a Haeundae skyscraper with HBA interiors.

Lotte Hotels & Resorts announced on 21 April 2020 that Signiel Busan, the second hotel under its top-tier Signiel brand, would open on 17 June in Haeundae, Busan’s best-known beach district. The hotel occupies the 3rd to 19th floors of the LCT Landmark Tower, part of the Haeundae LCT development.

The brand launched in 2017 with Signiel Seoul, which occupies the 76th to 101st floors of Lotte World Tower and has 235 rooms. The Busan property is slightly larger, with 260 rooms planned around views of the sea.

Interiors are by HBA, the international hospitality design firm, with an ocean-view theme running through the rooms. Menus were developed with consulting from French chef Bruno Ménard, who has held three Michelin stars.

Dining is organised around several venues. The View is a premium buffet restaurant, while Chaoran serves Cantonese cuisine, including dim sum and Chinese barbecue, under the direction of chef Lee Che Liang, formerly of Hakkasan in London. Chaoran Bar takes the form of a Chinese-style izakaya. Salon de Signiel and The Lounge & Pastry Salon cover lighter moments through the day.

For wellness, the hotel introduces the first Shantecaille Spa in Korea, built around the eco-minded skincare brand, alongside an outdoor infinity pool looking out to the ocean.
