Detailed on 8 January 2020, the facility covers 3,716 square metres, or 40,000 square feet, across the sixth and seventh floors of the Rosewood tower.
Tony Chi, the New York designer behind the 413-room hotel’s interiors, also designed Asaya. The programme is built on five pillars: emotional balance, fitness and nutrition, physical therapies, skin health and community. Practitioners cover movement coaching, bodywork, naturopathy, fitness training and arts therapy, and put together individual programmes for guests.
The facilities go well beyond a hotel spa. There is an outdoor infinity pool facing the harbour, an 84-square-metre Glass House with 360-degree windows, a Technogym-equipped fitness centre and the Harbour Studio for yoga, aerial yoga, barre, TRX and meditation. Changing rooms include hydrotherapy pools, sauna, steam room and an ice blast shower, and the Asaya Urban Sanctuary Suites have private marble bathhouses.
Asaya also offers two overnight Asaya Lodges of 99 and 71 square metres, the 120-seat Asaya Kitchen, a nail boudoir, Aroma, Tonic and Beauty Ateliers, and three retail galleries. Skincare partners include EviDenS de Beauté, Sunday Riley, Votary and GOA, with Maison Caulières for aromatherapy. Signature programmes range from One Day Wellness and Unplug to Growing Together for couples and families, plus Wellness for Kids.
“There is a need for a sense of greater well-being and a profound shift in the way people perceive wellness,” said Rosewood Hotel Group chief executive Sonia Cheng. Asaya adds a wellness dimension to the Kowloon waterfront of Hong Kong; programmes are listed on the Rosewood Hong Kong website.
