Italian cooking at 102 storeys
Tosca di Angelo is the Italian restaurant of The Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong, on the 102nd floor of the International Commerce Centre in West Kowloon. Chef Angelo Aglianò leads a large open kitchen, and the menu draws on southern Italy and the Mediterranean, with seafood at its centre: classic in concept, modern in presentation.
The dining room, in metal and glass with a marble floor, two fountains and a large chandelier, follows a purple, water-themed design. Floor-to-ceiling windows give the best seats a view over Hong Kong Island, and by night the skyline takes over. Forbes Travel Guide lists sample dishes such as roasted octopus, green spaghetti with swordfish and squid, and loin of lamb with herbs and almonds, with a lemon semifreddo with basil and pistachio for dessert.
There is no online booking, and weekend evenings need advance planning. Smart casual dress is expected. Menus change, so treat the dishes as examples.
