Épure
French cooking with subtle Asian touches in Harbour City, Kowloon.
French, with a light Asian hand
Épure is a one-star French restaurant on the fourth floor of Ocean Centre in Harbour City, Tsim Sha Tsui. The Michelin inspectors call the cooking French in essence but enhanced by subtle Asian touches, precisely executed and not overly fancy, with two tasting menus paired with carefully chosen wines.
An early review described a hexagonal motif running through the décor and a booth layout that suits business dinners. Dishes then included seared duck foie gras with marinated pear, a white mushroom soup with spinach gnocchi, and a Grand Marnier soufflé with mandarin sorbet, with imported French artisanal cheeses. The kitchen was then led by Nicolas Boutin, and the Michelin guide today describes the chef as Singaporean, so leadership has changed.
Guests can have a drink on the patio before dinner. Menus change, so confirm current dishes.
