Hotel
Raffles Singapore
Beach Road, Civic District, Singapore
The 1887 grande dame of Singapore: 115 suites, palm courtyards, the Long Bar and a butler for every guest.
Why we recommend it
Of the grand old hotels of Asia, Raffles is among the best preserved. Every room is a suite, and the white, verandahed building still works as it was meant to, around shaded courtyards.
It is also the place where several of Singapore's rituals began. The Singapore Sling was invented in its Long Bar, and the Tiffin Room has served since 1892.
Location
On Beach Road in the Civic District, within walking distance of the National Gallery and the Padang.
