Chả Cá Thăng Long
Turmeric catfish cooked at the table in a century-old yellow townhouse, a Bib Gourmand.
Chả cá at the table
Chả Cá Thăng Long has three outlets on the same street, all with identical names and run by one family; the Michelin guide recommends the branch at 6B Dương Thành Street, in a century-old pale yellow townhouse reached through a small courtyard.
The standout dish is chả cá, grilled turmeric catfish cooked at the table in a sizzling pan with spring onions and dill, and served with vermicelli, coriander, shrimp paste and peanuts. It was a Bib Gourmand in the 2023 and 2024 guides and remains listed in 2026.
Open for lunch and dinner, it is a long-standing Hanoi dish at its source.
