Why we recommend it
The hotel's strength is its restaurants. Tom Aikens, Morimoto and T'ang Court under one roof give a visitor to Jakarta three serious dinners without facing the city's traffic, and the rooms and club lounge sit high enough in the tower to give long views over the business district.
SCBD is the practical address for anyone in the city for work, with offices, shops and restaurants on the doorstep. Travellers who want the older, greener centre should look at Park Hyatt Jakarta in Menteng.
