Why we recommend it
The rooms are generous, at 68 square metres at entry level, and all face the sea. The 110-metre pool on the thirteenth floor, with the bay beyond its edge, is the feature that made the hotel known. Dining at the resort ranges from East Kitchen to a seafood restaurant and a grill.
Sanya is busiest at Chinese New Year and through the winter months; outside those periods the beach is quieter. The group's city hotels on the mainland include Rosewood Beijing and Rosewood Guangzhou.
