La Résidence Phou Vao in Luang Prabang Is Joining The Luxury Collection
The Luang Prabang resort is set to join Marriott’s Luxury Collection in late 2026.
La Résidence Phou Vao Resort & Spa in Luang Prabang is scheduled to join Marriott’s Luxury Collection in the fourth quarter of 2026.
Marriott’s current Asia Pacific openings list describes a 41-room property, adding a global luxury affiliation to an established resort in one of Southeast Asia’s most culturally distinctive small cities.
A collection brand fits Luang Prabang’s scale
Luang Prabang’s appeal depends heavily on its historic urban fabric, Buddhist heritage and landscape along the Mekong and Nam Khan rivers. Large standardized hotels can sit awkwardly in that context, making smaller collection properties a particularly relevant model.
Joining The Luxury Collection gives the hotel access to Marriott Bonvoy and international distribution while allowing it to retain an individual name and identity.
The announced Q4 2026 opening refers to its entry into the Marriott portfolio; travellers should confirm the exact transition date before booking specifically for the new affiliation.
