IHG and ALAND Sign 15 Staybridge Suites Hotels Across Australia
A 15-hotel agreement with ALAND will introduce Staybridge Suites across Australia.
IHG Hotels & Resorts and Australian developer ALAND have signed a 15-hotel agreement to launch and rapidly expand Staybridge Suites across Australia.
Announced on September 10, 2026, the deal represents a major push for IHG’s extended-stay brand in a market where apartment-style accommodation already plays an important role.
Extended stay becomes a larger hotel category
Staybridge Suites is designed around longer stays, with residential-style facilities that sit between conventional hotels and serviced apartments. A 15-property agreement gives the brand an unusually fast route to scale in Australia.
The deal also reflects a broader hospitality trend: international groups are placing more emphasis on extended-stay formats as work patterns, relocation, project travel and longer leisure trips blur the boundaries between hotels and temporary homes.
Individual hotel locations and opening dates will determine how quickly the agreement becomes visible to travellers, but the signing itself establishes a substantial future pipeline.
