The Grove
Kimpton Bamboo Grove Suzhou's Chinese restaurant keeps an old hotel name and cooks the seasonal food of Suzhou and Huaiyang.
A name from the old Bamboo Grove
The Grove (竹趣轩) is the Chinese restaurant of Kimpton Bamboo Grove Suzhou, on the hotel’s ground floor in Suzhou. Its name goes back to a Chinese restaurant at the former Bamboo Grove Hotel in the 1990s, which the new hotel chose to carry forward.
The cooking is modern Suzhou and Huaiyang cuisine, the food of Jiangnan, the region long known as the “land of fish and rice”. The kitchen follows a seasonal approach, using ingredients sourced from Suzhou and the surrounding area, and presents the regional repertoire with creative touches in an elegant, contemporary room.
Two years in the Black Pearl guide
The Grove entered China’s Black Pearl Restaurant Guide with one diamond in 2025 and kept that listing in 2026. It serves breakfast, lunch and dinner.
