The hotel sits between the Old Taipa and Coloane neighbourhoods and is directly connected to the Galaxy International Convention Center and the 16,000-seat Galaxy Arena. Guests also have access to Galaxy Macau’s Grand Resort Deck.
Its design reinterprets Macau’s East-meets-West heritage, drawing on the classic architecture of Old Taipa, the city’s maritime history, Portuguese buildings and Chinese traditions. Galaxy Macau describes the concept as the residence of a knowledgeable antique dealer, filled with couture gowns, antique vases, glass sculptures and the steel “Juxtapose” sculpture series by Malaysian artist Tang Mun Kian.
The signature installation is the Macau Steps, a staircase set with more than 100 videos that tell the story of the city’s past and present. Rooms range from 35 square metres to suites of 68 square metres, in a palette of forest greens and earthy orange that references the green landscapes of the surrounding area.
Dining is led by Andaz Kitchen, an all-day restaurant with live cooking stations serving Chinese, Portuguese and Western dishes. Andaz Studio hosts breakfast and doubles as an event space for up to 80 guests, with classes by master chefs, while Andaz Bar focuses on creative cocktails and local craft beers and Andaz Lounge completes the line-up.
Facilities include a 19-metre heated indoor pool and a 24-hour fitness centre. The opening was announced by Hyatt; more Cotai hotels feature in our Macau guide.
