W Hotels opened W Macau – Studio City on 8 September 2023, marking the Marriott International brand’s debut in Macau. The hotel is part of Melco Resorts & Entertainment’s Studio City integrated resort on the Cotai Strip.

The design takes its cue from the glamour of classic cinema and from Macau’s maritime history. George Fleck, global brand leader for W Hotels, said the opening “ushers in a new, modern style of highly-experiential hospitality”.

There are 557 rooms, 430 rooms and 127 suites, ranging from 37 to 258 square metres, each with city views, an in-room W Mix Bar and Bluetooth sound system. The signature Extreme WOW Suite occupies the 38th floor, a two-bedroom space with a circular bed and 270-degree views.

Dining spans five venues. DIVA, on the 40th floor, serves Cantonese fine dining in an Art Deco setting, while Hawker Hawker is the all-day restaurant, mixing local and international dishes. The Living Room pairs coffee and cocktails with Portuguese-Chinese pastries, A.P.D. is a speakeasy built around infusions and smoke, and Blind Tiger focuses on handcrafted dark spirits and rare whiskies.

Blind Tiger also houses the W Sound Suite, the brand’s signature recording studio and the first in Greater China. Wellness facilities include WET, a 16-metre indoor pool with Jacuzzi, cool-down pool and swing beds, the FIT gym and an AWAY Spa with seven treatment rooms.

For events, ACADEMY provides 600 square metres across seven customisable rooms. The hotel is led by general manager Adrian Chan. More hotels on the Cotai Strip are in our Macau guide.
