Chengdu mansion-banquet cooking at MGM Cotai, led by Yang Dengquan; one Michelin star.
Chengdu banquets in Cotai
Five Foot Road is MGM Cotai’s Sichuan restaurant, on the ground floor of the resort in Cotai, Macau. It entered the Michelin Guide with one star in 2023 and holds one star in the MICHELIN Guide Hong Kong Macau 2026. Chef Yang Dengquan, a second-generation keeper of Chengdu mansion cooking with about four decades in kitchens, has led it since opening, with a team of Sichuan natives.
The cooking draws on the banquets of 1940s Chengdu mansions, with spices and seasonal ingredients from Sichuan and Yunnan. The Michelin inspectors praise giant white shrimp fried with chillies pickled in-house, and the perfumed oil of the boiled dishes, balanced between numbing heat and aroma. MGM lists stewed duck in brown sauce with Huadiao wine among its signatures. Glass murals of a Sichuan landscape in ink-painting style decorate the room.
