Bún Riêu Yến
A family-run bún riêu corner on the Nhiêu Lộc Canal, the only one of its kind in the 2026 Bib Gourmand list.
The Restaurant
Bún Riêu Yến is a family-run noodle shop on a busy corner along the Nhiêu Lộc Canal, and its reputation has grown mostly by word of mouth. Tuoi Tre reports that it is the only bún riêu in the Michelin Guide’s 2026 Bib Gourmand selection.
The broth is lightly seasoned, which Michelin describes as mildly spicy and naturally sweet, and each table carries shrimp paste, fish sauce, chilli, lime, sugar and tamarind sauce so diners can adjust it. A typical bowl includes pork sausage, blood pudding, fried tofu and snails. Unusually, the kitchen uses a paste of shrimp, pork and egg in place of freshwater crab, which can surprise first-time diners.
Good to Know
Expect to queue at peak hours. Opinion online is divided, and Tuoi Tre notes that some reviewers think the shop is no longer what it was, a debate that has followed it for years. For the wider picture see Ho Chi Minh City.
