Kimpton Signs a New Beach Resort in Phang Nga, Thailand
A new Kimpton beach resort is planned for Thailand’s Andaman coast.
IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed Kimpton Phang Nga Natai Beach, a new-build resort planned for Thailand’s Andaman coast.
Announced on August 5, 2026 in partnership with Natai Venture, the 150-key property is scheduled to open in 2028.
Kimpton expands beyond Thailand’s established city and island addresses
The signing extends Kimpton’s presence in Thailand into Phang Nga, north of Phuket. Natai Beach has developed as a lower-density luxury coastal area, offering a different setting from the more intensively developed resort zones on Phuket itself.
The project is part of IHG’s broader expansion of its Luxury & Lifestyle portfolio in Southeast Asia. Importantly, this is a pipeline announcement rather than an opening: the resort does not yet operate and the 2028 timetable remains a future target.
For travellers, the significance is therefore strategic rather than immediate. The signing shows continued international-brand interest in the wider Phuket–Phang Nga corridor and in beachfront sites outside the island’s established hotel clusters.
